Alison Moyet lends her talents to perform a backing vocal on Moby's latest single release, "Slipping Away". The song is a reworked version of the original track from the album "Hotel".

The single's release date is 23 January 2006 and it has been A-listed by BBC Radio 2.

Alison Moyet & Dawn French Star In Smaller

Alison Moyet teams up with friend and comedienne Dawn French in Smaller, a debut stage play written by Carmel Morgan.

Kathy Burke, whose production of Sam Shepard’s The God of Hell is currently playing at the Donmar, will direct the piece.

Dawn French and Alison Moyet will play two sisters whose mother is disabled. While Alison’s character sings in bars on Spain’s Costa Del Sol, French’s role is that of a school teacher who is also responsible for caring for the sisters’ mother. Alison Moyet has written new music for the show, in which she will also sing.

After a UK-wide tour, the show is due to open at the West End’s Lyric theatre on April 4, 2006, following a week of previews.

French is best known as the larger half of the TV comedy duo “French and Saunders." She was last seen in the West End in 2003 in My Brilliant Divorce, and made her Shakespearean debut two years earlier as Bottom in Matthew Francis’ production of A Midsummer Night’s Dreamat the Albery.

Like French, Burke attained celebrity status as a comedy actor on British television. Over the last few years she has carved out an increasingly impressive career as a stage director, compiling a list of directorial credits including a well received production of Brendan Behan’s The Quare Fellow for Oxford Stage Company.
